Python for beginners, Half day Afternoon Camp 2023

This course will be offered between Feb 20-24 2023, it gives students an opportunity to excel in their levels and problem-solving skills in a short time.

Grade 3-5: Python for beginners
Students will learn the basics of programming in python, like input, variables, conditions, and loops. Students will apply this knowledge to make drawings with the turtle graphics library.

Day 1: Python Basics

• • Basic input and output
  • Variables and data types
  • String manipulation
  • Conditional statements
  • Time permitting: Math operators
  • Project: Make a chatbot, text adventure, quiz program, or similar

Day 2: Python turtle basics

• • Turtle movement
  • Basic lines and shapes
  • Colors
  • Fills
  • Project: Write your name, draw a picture, or make more complex shapes

Day 3: Loops and Functions

• • For loops
  • While loops
  • Time permitting: Lists
  • Project: Intricate shapes, pixel art, or an interactive turtle controller

Day 4: Functions and Projects

• • While loops application
  • Lists application
  • Project: Intricate shapes, pixel art, or an interactive turtle controller

Day 5: Project review and application. The teacher will align with all the students about the knowledge they learned and apply it to make projects together for practicing to make sure each

of the students learned and has the capability to use it.
