ACSL Junior Contest 4

Division:  Grade 6-9

Time:  Sept 11 2022- May 14 2023,  12:30-2:00pm PT, contest 1-4,  32 weeks in total, 1.5 hours /week.

For Final contest, you need to get the invitation from the ACSL officially ( depends on the score the student achieved) , normally 70% -80% of the students can get into final contest.

BayCodingClub Contest Date is as below, please mark your calendar : * Thanks giving no class : Nov 20-26. Christmas no class : Dec 25 and  New Year, Jan 1st 2023. no class.*

Please aware our classes time may or may not adjusted accordingly, Please make sure the first Priority of ACSL test when you register your kids. Otherwise, for the whole team concern, Please do not register. thank you!

CONTEST DATE: 

6-Nov Contest 1. warm up 20mins with the coach, before the competition starts
15-Jan Contest 2. warm up 20mins with the coach, before the competition starts
5-Feb Contest 3. warm up 20mins with the coach, before the competition starts
14-May Contest 4. warm up 20mins with the coach, before the competition starts
Zoom ID and Class instruction will be sent by email.
Please write the student’s name /Grade/student email in the notes when you check out, we will send you information to the email. Be sure to check that email. 

※ I agree that I will complete the ACSL tests independently. I will not consult/copy code from any source including a website, book, or friend/colleague to complete these tests, though I may reference language documentation or use an IDE that has code completion features.
If I was disqualified by the ACSL due to violation of the anti-plagiarism rules, Bay Coding Club shall hold no responsibility.
※ I agree that after signing up, I will keep participating through all the season contests and the Finals, unless due to force majeure where I have communicated the circumstance to Bay Coding Club and taken all appropriate action to mitigate that event. There is a regular season of FOUR competitions/contests. The Final Test depends on the Contest 1-4 scores.  If your kid was invited by the ACSL ( depends on the 4 contest scores) finals, you need to attend another final contest training classes after Contest 4, it will be a separate payment. 

ACSL official contest schedule 2022-23: 

  • Contest #1: available Oct. 31, 2022; closes Sunday January 15, 2023 @ 11:59pm EST
  • Contest #2: available Dec. 26, 2022; closes Sunday March 5, 2023 @ 11:59pm EST
  • Contest #3: available Jan. 30, 2023; closes Sunday April 9, 2023 @ 11:59pm EDT
  • Contest #4: available March 6, 2023; closes Sunday May 14, 2023 @ 11:59pm EDT

Based on the scores during the regular season, top students in all divisions will be invited to participate in an online Finals competition:

  • Invitations E-mailed: May 1, 2023 through May 16, 2023
  • Invitational Finals: Saturday, May 27, 2023 (Memorial Day weekend in the United States)

There is a $25 per-student registration fee to participate in the Finals.

Contest 4 – 8 weeks, 8 meetings (one 1.5hrs meeting per week)

  1. Debrief the third exam. Discuss graphs, digraphs, edge sets. Complete graphs, Problem sets
  2. Discuss the adjacency matrix. Trees, spanning trees, minimal spanning tree. Problems.
