Description
Tinkercad is a wonderful tool. It is an easy-to-use, powerful software, very suitable for students with no foundation with 3D and circuit design. The software operation interface is relatively simple, the function buttons are arranged reasonably, and there are many preset component modules, which provide convenience for students to build works.
Course length: 12 weeks per level. Students will be moved up to the next level automatically once they complete one level.
Level 1:
- Aim to introduce and teach students basic CAD functions, such as extrusions, shape manipulations, align, and booleans (object intersections)
- Students will be able to explore TinkerCAD’s many functions and features and get acquainted with them
- Students will get to be creative and interpret projects and design in their own style
Level 2:
- Minor coding experience/knowledge recommended
- Introduce students to codeblocks (similar to Scratch) and students will also use simple coding skills to animate 3 dimensionally
- Students will get to design and animate several landscapes the to give it some life through more advanced codeblocks application
Level 3:
- Students will get introduced to more advanced architectural ideas like orthogonal drawings, cuts, programs (the use of space), and other concepts as they design their own home!
- Students will continue to develop more advanced codeblocks and coding skills through projects like building a calculator and making their own game!
Level 4:
- Students will get to exercise creativity and tell a story through animating objects 3 dimensionally through codeblocks
- Students will use advanced CAD and Codeblocks skills to make a detailed game, sculpture, and more!
The syllabus will send by the teacher one or two days before the class.
