During the pandemic, quite a few parents of our Bay Coding Club students were mentioning about their kids were addicted to Roblox games while staying at home. Due to online classes, kids are more familiar with computers and even cannot leave them. However, parents have difficulties to limit their game time as they have to work at the same time.
Why not let the kids play and design Roblox together with our teachers? They will turn their favorite game into a platform for developing innovations! As you know, the Roblox game design is very popular.

It is such an inclusive platform that allows creators all over the world, especially young designers, to come up with ideas and designs. Everything starts with their interests and fantastic ideas. So plenty of their creations like “Prison Break”, “Piggy”, and “Meep City” which attracting kids a lot have a very large market share.

It is one of the most popular platforms around the world where people can upload their own designs. Players can choose from various forms and get as much experience as they want. Another great characteristic of Roblox is that players could enjoy their social life in the game. Players will experience role assignment and win-win cooperation when forming groups and teams so that every player can make friends with others from all over the world.
For example, in the “Shark Bite” mode, players and friends are on a cruise and face a fierce giant shark. The shark needs to be defeated before the ship sinks, and the process is very exciting. According to the Sensor Tower data, Roblox’s total mobile revenue has surged from US$1 billion to 1.5 billion in the past 7 months. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and lockdowns in the past few months, while people turn to the Internet for entertaining and socializing, Roblox grows explosively. In March, the mobile revenue was US$69.8 million, an increase of 28% from the previous month; then revenue in April was further increased by 34%. In May, revenue reached a new high, reaching 103 million US dollars. Many teenagers have earned the first pot of gold in their lives in Roblox’s design!

Purpose of our Course
Baycodingclub opens a course called 3D Design with Roblox Coding. BCC encourages kids to participate in game design whatever they are familiar with or even unfamiliar with Roblox. For children aged 7-15, it is the key period for them to explore computers and cultivate innovative thinking. Our teacher will guide each student to design with his or her marvelous imagination! With programming, they will learn how to make elegant game maps, background music, and virtual battles, etc., which could improve their logical thinking thoroughly.
We won’t ask them to follow instructions step by step, but develop their own project mostly by themselves with their initiative thinking after they understanding the points. We will provide a great place for their fancy imagination!
Targets of our Course
- Level 1: Obstacle Course: Design obstacles in the game;
- Level 2: Maze: Design a maze, where players can get out of it while avoiding NPC;
- Level 3: Driving Simulator Project: design a player walking route map;
- Level 4: First Person Shooter: Try to design a first-person shooter game.
After planning, designing, and programming by themselves, they will fell tremendous fulfillment to have their own games which is just like what they used to play.
Roblox will enhance their logical thinking and enrich their imagination! How about asking your kids if they want to have fun in learning? Maybe they will become the next master of game design!
