Video Editing with Adobe Premiere

Course Introduction:

This course is for the students who are interested in making video blogs in the present popular video trend. This course will be divided into two parts: editing and shooting. In the first three courses, students will learn the operation of Premiere, train their editing logic, and get familiar with the workflow of video production. In the last three courses, students will understand the production of Vlog, shooting skills, and try making a travel Vlog.

This class need you to have Adobe Premiere($19.99/month in student price), in this class, you will learn：

• The operation of Premiere
• The editing Logic
• The workflow of video production
• Then production of Vlog
• Travel Vlog

You will do five projects as homework: Digital Photo Album, Movie Mixed Cutting, Stop-motion animation, Life Vlog, and Travel Vlog.

Course Descriptions

Course I:

Digital Album Case —— Understand the basic operation of Adobe Premiere

Course Goals:

By making a very easy example of a digital album, we will

• know the functions of each software operation panel;
• Understand how the Editing timeline works;
• Understand the entire editing workflow until video exported

Course II:

Movie Mixed Cutting Practice —— Understand the basic logic of editing

Course Goals:

This course will help you preliminarily understand the logic of editing and further controls of Premiere. Movie mixed cutting can help you to practice with some very excellent footages while you don’t have your own video clips. Also, by collecting and picking the clips that you want to add into your video, it will train you to control the narrative rhythm and sequence of the video.

Course III:

Stop Motion Animation —— video production workflow

Course Goal:

After you grasp the operation of the editing tool and its logic, the next step is creating your first video. By making your stop motion animation, you will

• start to know how to narrative a story in the beginning;
• learn using the pen tool to cut out the object and set mask;
• Understand the keyframe by making a simple animation.

Course IV:

Your first Vlog —— Understand the process of making a Vlog and form your style

Course Goal:

This course will help you to

• understand what a Vlog is
• learn how to design your Vlog
• how to edit Vlog

Course V:

The mind is your camera —— Shoot with a better look

Course Goal:

Shooting is the main topic you will learn in this course. You will:
– learn the basic theories of photography
– learn the shooting styles
– learn how to design your shooting

Course VI:

Travel Vlog —— A final project combining thinking, shooting, and editing

Course Goal:

In this course, which is the last course of this session, you will
– get familiar with one of the most popular Vlog styles on YouTube — Travel Vlog
– learn how to plan and prepare for a travel Vlog
– learn more skills of making a Vlog
– learn more editing skills
– start your final project!
