Day 1: Introduction to AI & Chatbot Basics
Morning Session: Understanding AI & Chatbots
- What is AI? Explanation with real-world examples (Siri, ChatGPT, Google Assistant).
- What is an AI Agent? Understanding how AI agents work, their structure, and applications.
- Introduction to Chatbots: How do chatbots learn and respond?
- Project Kickoff: Overview of what students will build—an AI Study Buddy.
Afternoon Session: Hands-on with No-Code AI Tools
- Getting Started with Teachable Machine (Google) and Dialogflow (a beginner-friendly chatbot platform).
- Creating a Simple Question-Answer Model: Teach a chatbot to respond to basic questions using predefined rules.
- Testing & Exploring: Students interact with AI models and brainstorm how to make them better.
Day 2: Building the AI Chatbot
Morning Session: Designing the Study Buddy
- What subjects should it cover?
- How should it respond to students?
- What personality should it have? Fun and engaging or more academic?
Afternoon Session: Coding the Chatbot (No Coding Experience Required!)
- Step 1: Using Google Dialogflow or Scratch AI Extensions for beginner-friendly chatbot development.
- Step 2: Training the chatbot with study-related questions and answers.
- Step 3: Implementing simple logic: How the chatbot decides what to say next.
- Step 4: Testing and improving responses based on peer feedback.
Day 3: Expanding AI Capabilities & Project Finalization
Morning Session: Making the Chatbot Smarter
- Adding more knowledge: Expanding the chatbot’s database to include multiple subjects.
- Voice or Text? Adding a simple text-to-speech function (optional).
- Personalization: Let the chatbot remember user preferences (e.g., favorite subjects).
Afternoon Session: Connecting to the Real World
- Future Possibilities: How can this chatbot be used for college applications?
- Showcasing Work: Preparing final presentations.
- Demo Day Rehearsal: Practice explaining the chatbot and its features.
Day 4: Presentation, Certification & Future Applications
Morning Session: AI Showcase & Peer Feedback
- Students present their AI Study Buddy chatbot to the class.
- Peer-to-peer feedback session on chatbot performance.
- Improving chatbot responses based on feedback.
Day 5: Visit University of Stanford. Picnic and Party.
Afternoon Session: Project Submission & Certifications
- Finalizing chatbot performance.
- Recording a demo video for college applications.
- Receiving certificates and recommendation letters.
- Discussing future applications: How students can continue improving their AI chatzbot and use it for research projects in college.
Future Application Possibilities:
- Enhancing for College Applications: Expand the chatbot into an AI-powered study planner or tutor assistant.
- Competition & Hackathons: Enter AI innovation contests or science fairs.
- Academic Research: Work with university professors to refine the project into a real AI research topic.
- Startup Potential: Develop it into an AI-powered learning assistant app.
Final Outcome:
By the end of the 4-day camp, each student will have:
✅ Created and deployed a functional AI Study Buddy chatbot.
✅ Learned basic AI, chatbot logic, and machine learning concepts.
✅ Received a certificate & potential recommendation letter.
✅ Prepared a demo video to showcase in college applications.
